How do I make a fresh bouquet last longer?
Re-cut about an inch off each stem with a sharp knife, remove leaves that would sit in the water, and change the water every 2 to 3 days, re-cutting the stems each time. Illinois Extension also advises keeping cut flowers away from heat sources and full sun, since both shorten vase life.
Use clean shears or a knife, not household scissors. Scissors crush the stems instead of cutting them.
