What does "Happy Deepavali" mean?
Deepavali is the festival of lights. Saying "Happy Deepavali" wishes someone joy for the day and the year ahead. In Malaysia you will also hear the Tamil greeting Deepavali Nalvazhthukal and the Malay Selamat Hari Deepavali. Any of the three feels warm on a gift card.
The three standard Deepavali greetings
Keep the card simple. These three greetings are the ones we source and keep on this page. A native Tamil speaker should still confirm the Tamil script before any printable card graphic is made.
| Greeting | Romanised | Meaning | When to use | Source |
